De Tijd’s ‘Mastermind’ Project Wins Prestigious Belfius Press Award for Digital Innovation
Last night, the prestigious Belfius Press Awards took place, shining a spotlight on outstanding journalistic and photographic talent. Among the exceptional works, Stephanie De Smet and Thomas Roelens from De Tijd won the Belfius Press Award in the “Digital & Interactive” category for their project, “Mastermind”.
This project aimed to make long-read content more manageable and increase reader engagement. We worked together to transform the provided content into a powerful piece of information design.
The jury stated, “This contribution stands out for its originality, format, and visualization, putting the reader in control. The journalists present the theme — how we come up with new ideas — in a very engaging and interactive way.”
Highlights
How did we achieve this?
By collaborating closely with talented journalists to present their content visually and clearly.
By focusing on information design.
By creating an interactive explainer to engage the reader.
This project was a challenge we embraced wholeheartedly, so we are very proud of Thomas, Stephanie, and their team for redeeming this recognition. The award is a testament to the hard work and innovation poured into this project!
